Shepherd_Park_sign.jpgShepherd Park is a converted dairy and two fields that can provide a worthwhile nights away experience for each section's young people, either in the building or outside in one of the fields.

Shepherd Park's superb edge of village location has good access to Faversham for shopping (3 supermarkets and a market), the swimming pools, cinema, a main line rail station and M2 motorway. Here's our suggestions for some  off-site places and activities.

The site consists of 2 fields, totalling about 3 acres, the larger north field is bordered by trees and has a small area of woodland in one corner, there is a water point in the field and a camp fire area. It is separated from the smaller south field by a country lane.

The south field also has car parking and the cluster of 3 buildings - the HQ used by two scout groups, the Main Hall and the Barn. The field is bordered by woodland on two sides and there are a number of large trees marking the boundary with adjoining farmland. It also has an external tap, camp fire circle, altar fire and wood pile.

The Main Hall can be divided in 2, it can also be heated, has 3 folding 12-seater table and chair units, the kitchen has been recently refurbished including a new cooker and has a variety of crockery, pots and pans, plus fridge and freezer.

The male and female toilets and showers are located at the back of the Main Hall.

The North Field

The larger north field is away from the buildings giving the option of a more basic camp, with indoor facilities a short walk away.

Our plans for a new toilet block started to take shape in September 2016, see the progress.

It also provides plenty of space for activities, including allowing for archery to be run alongside others.

The South Field

The south field is smaller however, it still provides ample room for a section camp or archery.

It also has access to the facilities inside the buildings, an altar fire and the car park.

The Buildings

The Main Hall provides access to the kitchen and toilets and a large indoor area.

The Scout Hall is used by two of the district's scout groups

The Barn is used as an air rifle range.

Indoor Facilities

The kitchen has a gas cooker with 6 hobs and oven, 3 sinks and a hot water urn.

The toilets also provide male and female showers.
